There are a bunch of ways you can search for your friend’s Snapchat username and a few tricks to find guys and girls to chat with that you hadn’t met before. It’s easy once you get everything set up correctly with all the privacy correct and such.
I’ll show you to how do a Snapchat username search and sync your contact list and Facebook friends with your Snapchat friend’s list.
How To Search For Snapchat Usernames
The first step that you want to do is to add friends. Tap the little icon with a person and a plus sign in the upper right corner. Then you will see all of your current Snapchat friends.
The first list will be Snapchat usernames that have added you. You can tap the plus sign to add them to your Snapchat list as well. This allows you to see Snaps from those people who already added you.
The second option is to find your friends and add them from your contacts list. You can choose the middle icon at the top. Make sure you press ok if it asks you whether it can sync with your contacts list. You will then see a list of your contacts that area already on your iPhone or Android and which contacts have Snapchat. You can tap the plus to add the Snapchat users to your contact list.
Lastly, you can search for Snapchat usernames by tapping the search icon at the top right. You will need to know their Snapchat name for it to work, so ask the person what it is before searching all around for it. Then you just tap the plus icon to add them.
Another trick to get more Snapchat friends is to sync your address book with Facebook so all of your Facebook friends go over to your contact list and you can import them into Snapchat.
Lastly, you can head to any number of forums out there that have guys and girls post their Snapchat username to meet new people. Send some of them Snaps that sound interesting and you can post your username for other people to Snap you back.
I like Snapchat because it’s fun. I don’t find it to be as stressful as Twitter or Facebook simply because I have faith that when someone views my message, it will be gone in a matter of seconds. On other apps, there is always the looming fear that my messages will still be floating out in cyberspace somewhere visible for some one to see. Snapchat curbs that fear for me, and I’m not saying that I send people anything particularly sensitive, but I just enjoy the comfort of knowing that my Snaps have a time limit. It forces the receiver to really pay attention to me and what I send, which I really like.
